Our School
School Sports Funding
Funding for 2023-24 is £19,420.
A wide range of activities are delivered in school which aims to engage and inspire all children. At Leamington Primary School we believe that sport plays a crucial role contributing to the health and well being of our children. We also believe that sporting excellence and participation go hand in hand with academic standards.
We have used the Sports Funding to purchase LSSP Membership Package- ‘Gold’ to develop skills and expertise of children and staff across all of the school from Reception through to Year 6.
As part of the package, a specialist P.E. teacher works with classes across the school, on a rota basis, for 1 half day a week.
Those children who are the least active are supported and encouraged to participate in P.E and have fun.
We employ a PE apprentice to further enhance our curriculum. We will also provide PE kit for all pupils.
For more information regarding the Sports Premium spend please see attached – PE Report 2023-24
PE Curriculum and Wider Opportunities
The children have attended competitions e.g: mat ball, football, tag rugby, athletics and dodgeball.
An SEN group of children took part in a curling competition and a group of vulnerable children are doing multi-sports after school, on a rota basis including Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4. Another SEN group of children will be taking part in a Tri-golf competition.
Over the year each child engages in games, dance, gymnastics and outdoor sports.
We have achieved the Silver Kitemark for Sports.
All of these activities have been funded or partly funded by the Sports Grant.
