On Friday
25th May 2012, Leamington be celebrated 'Hero
Day,' where we raised money and awareness for
the worthwhile local charity 'Claire House'.
In school, we discussed our heroes and how they
can help us and our community. We were visited
by representatives from 'Claire House' during
the day. We had a fantastic talk from Charlie,
a student, who had a brother that visited 'Claire
House,' and also a visit from Claire Bear - we
were very lucky. To make the day fun children
came into school dressed up as hero. This ranged
from a well known superhero to an important figure
in the community, for example: police officer,
doctor, fireman, nurse, family members etc.
'Claire House' is a children's hospice providing
a service for children aged 0 - 23 years, with
life threatening illnesses or life limiting condition,
and their families.
