Cross Country
Last year many children
were identified as good runners so we decided
to enter the Liverpool schools cross country league.
This would give many children an opportunity to
participate in an individual event as well as
a team event. All races are organised to take
part in a main park ie, Croxteth, Wavertree, Sefton,
Walton Hall, Newsham etc and courses are set out
to run 1 mile.
All children in years
3,4,5,6 are invited to train for the cross country
team and all times are recorded so that we can
track individual progress. The team will be selected
from a child recording consistently good times
regardless of their age. There will be a squad
of upto8 girls and 8 boys chosen for each event
which gives an opportunity to include a lot of
children throughout the year.
Currently we have
completed one race at Wavertree where we finished
2nd in the boys team event which was a great success
considering it was our first competition. This
was a result of some excellent individual performances.
The girls were not quite as successful but all
performed to the best of their ability.
