ICT
At Leamington
CP School we know the importance of ICT, not only
in the classroom but also in everyday life. Take
a minute to look around and you will see just
how much of it is around!
Pupils are
given opportunities to apply and develop their
ICT capability through the use of ICT tools to
support their learning in all subjects. Pupils
will not only learn important ICT skills but will
also use those skills to enhance their learning
in other curriculum subjects.
Our school
subscribes to a number of online resources to
help enhance children's learning in a range of
subjects. These resources include: Education City,
Knowledge Box and Purple Mash.
As well as
a wide variety of software, our school has an
excellent range of hardware resources. The children
have access to PC's, laptops, Apple Macs, iPads,
iPods, HD animation cameras, scanners, digital
cameras and video cameras.
To help our
children achieve their potential, we have continuous
curriculum support for ICT. A specialist teacher
visits our school regularly to deliver lessons
to our children and provide our teachers with
support and Professional Development opportunities.
These lessons are often cross-curricular to help
enhance children's learning in all subjects.
Safe use
of the Internet:
We take Internet
safety very seriously at Leamington CP School
and hold annual 'Internet Safety Days' for our
children. We also provide parents/carers with
information on keeping their children safe on
the Internet at home. All children are made aware
of our 'Internet Rules' whilst in school and these
are displayed in classrooms and the ICT suite.
Parents also sign and acknowledge the rules for
our children when using the Internet so 'school'
and 'home' are working together to keep our children
safe.
